Amason was the construction manager for this 6,750 square-foot shopping center located in the heart of Tuscaloosa, whichreceived a 2008 Build Alabama Award.  Graceful and sophisticated, the simple forms and rich materials that compose this retail center starkly contrast the cluttered landscape and six lanes of constant traffic that border it.  The building’s natural pallet of rough brown stacked stone veneer, smooth slabs of black slate, and clay tile roof is beautifully combined with modern accents of clear anodized aluminum that seem to glow in the late afternoon sun, evoking a sense of peace and serenity absent in most modern settings.  In addition to a well-constructed, elegant building, the Eastwood Mac project required a great deal of site work, including road resurfacing and storm sewer drainage system.
