 Sumter County Consolidated High School

Livingston, Alabama

Amason is currently serving as general contractor for the new Sumter County Consolidated High School .  This 104,794 square-foot project contains 40 classrooms, including specialized classrooms for biology, chemistry, computers, and media production.  The building also houses a gymnasium with seating for more than 950, weight room, locker rooms, cafeteria with seating for more than 350, library, band room, and various administrative offices.  In addition to completing the high school, we will also perform lane-widening and associated highway improvements to U.S. Hwy 11, so that it can better serve the new facility.    

Courtyard by Marriott

Columbus, Mississippi

Amason is serving as the construction manager for this 110 room, three-story hotel in Columbus, Mississippi.  The design of the hotel is based on the latest Courtyard prototype and will offer guests an indoor pool, conference center, fitness area, and full service kitchen.   Located at Moore’s Creek Crossing, an 12-acre business park for which Amason is also serving as construction manager, this Courtyard will occupy one of two hotel sites.

Fairfield Inn & Suites

Columbus, Mississippi

Amason is serving as construction manager for this three-story hotel in Columbus, Mississippi.  With a stacked stone and EIFS façade, this 86-room hotel includes an indoor pool, meeting space, business library, and fitness center.  Located at Moore’s Creek Crossing, an 12-acre business park for which Amason is also serving as construction manager, this Fairfield will occupy one of two hotel sites.

Columbus, Mississippi

Amason is serving as construction manager for this 12-acre business park which will include two hotel sites as well as six smaller outlots for various retail facilities and restaurants.  The public infrastructure and improvements required for this project are extensive.  Our responsibilities include constructing a concrete bridge, various sea walls along Moore’s Creek, and detention ponds.  To improve access to the site, we will install a traffic signal at an adjacent intersection and add turn lanes to two nearby public streets.  We will also provide landscaping services, install street lights, and extend public utilities, such as sanitary sewer, storm sewer, domestic water, and natural gas, throughout the site. 

New Headquarters & Lab for the Alabama Department of

Forensic Sciences

Auburn, Alabama

Amason is currently serving as general contractor for the new headquarters of the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences and its Auburn Laboratory in Auburn, Alabama.  This 29,500 square-foot, two-story building includes specialized laboratories, instrument rooms, conference rooms, and various administrative offices.  In addition, because the ADFS provides scientific assistance to State law enforcement agencies, the building contains an extensive, state-of-the-art security system as well as interior and exterior video surveillance.  We will also construct new parking areas for the facility and complete all landscaping and hardscaping. 

Leigh Mercedes-Benz Renovation

Tuscaloosa, Alabama

Amason is the construction manager for this substantial renovation project, whereby a former Buick dealership will be transformed into a contemporary Mercedes-Benz Autohaus.  To achieve this, the newest Mercedes-Benz prototype, the interior and exterior of the existing facility will be completely renovated.  The scope of work for this project includes upgrading the customer service areas, upgrading the existing showroom, modifying the storefront, and adding new signage.  In addition, new finishes and lighting will be installed in the service department, which will be modified to accommodate Sprinter Vans.  The existing roofline will also be reconfigured and a multitude of new architectural details added so that, upon completion, the dealership will be a true Autohaus.  

University of Alabama - Adams Hall Renovation

Tuscaloosa, Alabama

Amason is currently serving as general contractor for extensive renovations to Adams Hall at the University of Alabama. This historic building was originally constructed in 1914 and houses HES Consumer Science, Interior Design, and Human Development & Family Studies.  The scope of work for this project includes substantial asbestos abatement, installing a fire sprinkler system, replacing the roof, replacing the existing HVAC and electrical systems, and installing new windows in the building's original arched masonry openings.  Inside, new finishes as well as drywall replacement and repair will be completed in areas of the building's interior, which contains multimedia classrooms, playrooms for child development research, faculty offices, a Consumer Science Resource Lab, and class labs.

Woodstock Sewer System Phase III

Woodstock, Alabama

Amason has served as construction manager for the Town of Woodstock in each phase of construction for its sanitary sewer disposal system.  Phases I and II required the installation of 62,625 feet of sewer line, three pump stations, and emergency generators.  In addition, Phase III of this project will extend sewer service across I59/20 by way of a directional bore under the interstate.  This phase will provide service to Lakeview Elementary School and the surrounding area.  Service will also extend across Alabama Highway 11 to Exit 100, providing service to a mixed-use development.  The scope of work for Phase III includes installing 18,510 feet of eight-inch force main sewer pipe and 3,600 feet of ten-inch force main sewer pipe.  Lift stations and pumps required to connect the new line to the existing system will also be installed.
