Industrial

Amason has a history of staying on schedule and within budget while working on industrial sites and within factories because we approach every project as a partnership with the Owner. We seek first to understand day-to-day plant operations, plant specific safety programs, and how our work will ultimately fit into the manufacturing process as a whole, since even a slight project delay in industrial work can adversely affect production. Our extensive preparation ensures minimal plant disruptions.

Since 1999, Amason has completed over 24 separate projects at the MBUSI plant. From modernizations and upgrades to new facility construction, all of our MBUSI projects were performed in concert with ongoing plant operations. Specifically, we served as general contractor for the construction of the East Team Member Services Building, an 85,000 square-foot facility. Constructed in connection with a $600 million plant expansion, this facility houses a multitude of employee services, including an infirmary, a cafeteria with seating for more than 400, a kitchen capable of providing for more than 2000 employees, credit union, employee locker rooms, and engineering and administrative support offices.

We also constructed a 27,000 square foot research and development building, the EAK Facility, for MBUSI. The scope of work for this facility, which provides support to MBUSI’s assembly plant, consisted of 35 vehicle diagnostic stations, administrative offices, team member meeting space, and site improvements. The project included the construction of a test track, to evaluate the performance of vehicles manufactured at the plant, and a 260 foot overhead structural steel pipe trestle. This trestle delivers hot and cold supply and return water, compressed air, potable water, and electrical power to the facility from the main plant. It also serves as a conduit for communications and fire alarm services from the main plant.

We constructed a Tank Farm, a facility that contains reservoirs for all vehicle fluids and the complex piping systems needed to pump those fluids to appropriate points on the main assembly line, and the MOE Building, a testing center for diagnosing and correcting problems detected in post-market vehicles, as well. In addition, we performed work in the Energy Center, the factory’s power plant, and completed the general works package for the Wellness and Fitness Center.
